Why Your Purpose is Important

Why Your Purpose is Important

Do you know your purpose, or your why? Have you considered the reason for being or doing? This goes even deeper than just your career path, but to the heart of your soul. Did you know that this purpose overflows into every area of your life?

Sometimes, deep down, we already know our purpose. But for some reason we are scared of our own greatness. If you can tell me what you enjoy, what you wake up for, and what makes you happy - eliminating all external factors (what others think, money, current situation), then let me tell you this… you know your purpose. But if you really need a sign to move forward towards your purpose (both understanding it and taking action), look no further!

When I’m working with clients, I make it a point to understand them not just as their title or by the goals they set, but who they are as a human. This connection is crucial as I work with them on finding their magic and living their potential - personally and professionally. I am confident that when you get to know and understand someone, that is the only way you can help them improve and see the better for and within themselves.

So, what is the big deal about purpose and why is it important for your brand?

Because when you are fully aware of this purpose (and it can change from time to time throughout life), you’ll find that it sets precedence for why you (or your company) do the things that you do. This can be both fulfilling and, yes, frustrating. I understand that fully, and at times I honestly wish it were easier when you finally understand your purpose. Great things don’t get handed to you, and work is always going to be part of your hustle.

Purposes don’t always have to be “woo-woo” or magical in terms of pixie dust and rainbows. However, be warned that if your sole purpose is to make money with no mindfulness about how you get there, who you meet, influence or hurt, with a focus on self the entire time - it’s not going to be pretty, and you most likely will find yourself in a lonely rut. Your purpose right now might be to provide income for your family, or you want to serve others in some way. Perhaps you have an amazing product idea and need to narrow in on how to get it on the market. Those are all reasons to take action on something.

Knowing your purpose helps you set SMART goals

Understanding what you are/should be doing will help you make goals to fulfill that calling, and within a certain timeframe. You want Specific, Measurable, Achievable/Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound (SMART) goals to assist you in fulfilling that purpose. You can implement SMART goals across all areas of your life, and when you do you’ll find that it’s easier to stick to a plan in reaching those goals and seeing yourself fulfill your potential.

It’s easier to help clients when you know yourself, your capabilities and calling

It has taken me a few tries before I figured out exactly what I was doing in this space, and honestly I was afraid that once I realized it, perhaps it was too late. Thankfully, I am here, learning more and more to own my space, revel in my purpose and grow my skills in helping others see the importance of their brand. I truly believe this understanding is the core to a solid business plan, driving the ability to achieve positive results in the end. It won’t be overnight, and you will work, but it will be more meaningful when you keep your purpose in mind, letting it set the tone for your actions.

Take Action

Once you have your purpose, you’ve set your goals, and you’ve established a plan, you can take action towards seeing results. I am a planner addict, it is not a secret for those that know me in real life. It’s both a blessing and a curse, honestly. However, having a planner gives me an opportunity to lay out all aspects of a project, visualize my goals and the steps necessary to achieve them, along with a timeline on a calendar. Realistically, I could not move forward without writing everything down. You might be different, so find ways that help you stay focused and moving forward, even if it’s just one small task per day.

There are so many resources out there on goal planning and setting things in motion for yourself or your business. However, for those of you that really don’t want to do that on your own, or seek assistance to get started, I am here to help! Contact me and let’s get started! Your purpose awaits!
